LG’s ‘lucky boy’ Organic Award, Rookie of the Year Competition is not Over

LG, SK beat SK to rise to 3rd place Kogi Sang’s great performance

The last-minute sensation of professional basketball Changwon LG is fierce.

LG beat Seoul SK 76-67 in an away game of the 2023-2024 professional basketball regular league held at Jamsil Student Gymnasium in Seoul on the 15th.

LG posted 26 wins and 17 losses, pulling down SK and moving up one notch to the third place. On the other hand, SK, which has lost two straight games, fell to the fourth place by exchanging position with LG.

LG’s perfect win without giving up a lead

LG blocked SK’s attack by overwhelming the latter 13-4 in rebound fight from the first quarter. Starting with Lee Jae-do’s consecutive scoring, Yang Hong-seok and Yoo Ki-sang also joined attacks, taking the lead. SK is also chasing after Jamil Warney’s end-one play.

However, LG finished the first quarter 19-14 as Yoo Ki-sang hit a three-point shot and added one point with a free throw obtained by a team foul.

LG also scored a rebound in the second quarter. On the other hand, SK’s Warnie and Oh Se-geun struggled under the basket, but failed to hit an outer shot and continued turnovers, missing a chance to catch up. LG quickly connected SK’s mistake and ran away by a double-digit margin 39-28 at the end of the second quarter.

SK’s full-fledged pursuit began in the third quarter. With Warney’s jumper as the signal, Huh Il-young’s 3-pointer and Oh Jae-hyun’s 2-pointer passed through the rim, narrowing the gap to four points. LG also countered with Yang Hong-seok’s 3-pointer, but it was not enough to secure victory.

In the fourth quarter, SK narrowed the gap to two points with shots of Warney and Heo Il-young. However, LG changed the mood with Justin Gutang’s superb alley-oop, and Lee Kwan-hee succeeded in all three free throws to take a breather.

One minute and 52 seconds before the end of the game, LG could be sure of winning until Yoo Ki-sang boldly hit a three-point shot.

Crucial 3-pointers, 4 shots Enthusiastic shooter, Yoo Ki-sang

LG scored 14 points in the Asian quarter when Gutang stirred the court with his unique athleticism, and Yang Hong-seok led the attack with three-point shots at every crisis.

However, the star that stood out was the Rookie of the Year award. He pitched seven 3-pointers and scored four, posting 15 points, and garnered as many as five rebounds, displaying a perfect performance. More than anything else, he energized the team with spirit and competitive spirit as rookies.

Yoo Ki-sang, who had been expected to be the best shooter since college, entered the professional stage with LG’s third pick in the 2023 rookie draft.

Moon Jung-hyun Suwon kt and Park Moo-bin Ulsan Hyundai Mobis seemed to be in a three-way race for the Rookie of the Year, but Moon Jung-hyun had a narrow position in the team, and Yoo Ki-sang dominated as Park Moo-bin was injured early in the season.

However, as Park Moo-bin performed well after recovering from his injury, it was narrowed down to a two-way match against Yoo Ki-sang, and recently, as he was the only rookie player to be selected as the national team, some say Park Moo-bin is leading the way. 토토

Perhaps stimulated by Park Moo-bin’s performance, Yoo Ki-sang showed off his presence again on the day, further heating up the competition for the Rookie of the Year.
