‘Danish special talent’ Hojelun becomes Man Utd’s ‘fastest ever’
Rasmus Højlund, 20, one of this summer’s ambitious signings, has clocked a top speed for Manchester United.
Højlund moved to United earlier this month. The total transfer fee, including options, was £72 million. Reactions from football pundits were mixed, with former Liverpool man Graeme Souness telling the Express: “I don’t think United will be any better than last season. United spent £72 million to sign the silver striker, who doesn’t have a great scoring record. He scored 10 goals in 34 appearances for Atalanta last season. Now he comes to a league where goals are harder to come by. I could be wrong, but it’s a huge gamble with no proven record.
But as soon as he moved to United, it was a roller coaster ride. He was plagued by injuries. At the time, the Manchester Evening News reported that “Hoilearn suffered a minor injury during pre-season with Italian side Atalanta. He could be out of action for the next two to three weeks. He never recovered from the injury and switched to a United jersey, missing three consecutive English Premier League games, including the season opener.
His long-awaited debut for the Red Devils came on April 4 against Arsenal. He came on for Anthony Martial in the 22nd minute of the second half, but was unable to make an impact.’
Still, the numbers are impressive. According to data released by the Premier League (PL) secretariat on Friday (ET), Mkhitaryan reached a top speed of 35.45 km/h against Arsenal. This 토토 makes him United’s fastest player in the last four games. It ranks fifth in the PL.
Within the PL, Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke is first (36.10 km/h) and Anthony Gordon (Newcastle) is second (35.67 km/h).
Alejandro Garnacho was the next fastest United player after Mkhitaryan. He was 35.01 km/h.
