Yun-seung Lee, Freestyle Skiing Men’s Dual Mogul Gold Medal
Korea’s 4th gold medal in competition… Second only in skiing and snowboarding
Lee Yun-seung (Songgok High School), the promising star of Korean freestyle ski moguls, won the gold medal in the men’s dual mogul event at the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics (Gangwon 2024).
Yunseung Lee won the Gangwon 2024 Freestyle Ski Men’s Dual Mogul final held at High1 Resort in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do on the 27th, beating Huff Porter (USA) 18-17.
This is the fourth gold medal for the Korean team at this event, following Joo Jae-hee (Han Gwang-go) in the short track men’s 1,500m, Jae-hwan Jae-hwan (Sangji Daegwallyeong High School) in the men’s bobsled monobob (Single-seater), and Chae-un Lee (Suri High School) in the men’s snowboard slopestyle. 스포츠토토
In addition, Korea became the first winner in the freestyle skiing event at the Winter Youth Olympics.
The silver medal that Lee Yun-seung and Yoon Shin-i (Bongpyeong High School) won the day before in the dual mogul mixed team competition was the first prize, and they even won gold in one day.

Moguls is a type of freestyle skiing that involves going down a course with a series of mounds and then showing aerial skills from a jump. Among them, dual moguls is a sport in which two people run side by side and compete to win.
In the general Winter Olympics, only mogul competitions where one person competes one at a time have been played, but dual moguls are scheduled to be introduced starting with the 2026 Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo Games.
Lee Yun-seung, born in 2006, is a promising player who has been playing for the national team since 2021, and ranked third in the men’s dual moguls at the 2022 International Ski Federation (FIS) Europa Cup.
At the opening ceremony of the Gangwon 2024 Games, he took an oath pledging to do well as a representative of the athletes, and won a silver medal in the mixed team event and a gold medal in the individual event.
Lee Yoon-seung, who advanced to the semifinals as first place in the group stage on this day, defeated Gia Cohen (USA) 20-15 in the semifinals to advance to the finals, and won a thrilling one-point victory over Porter in the finals.
Meanwhile, Yoon Shin-i and Moon Seo-young (Sinsa Middle School) competed in the women’s dual mogul match held at the same venue that day, but neither of them passed the preliminaries.
