Winning 4-0 and ‘Nervous War’ because of PK

The penalty kick during the game caused a quarrel between Chelsea players.

“Chelsea players were involved in a pathetic penalty kick debate despite already leading 4-0.

Chelsea met Everton in the 33rd round of the 2023/24 English Premier League (PL) at Stamford Bridge in London on the 16th and won 6-0.

From the very early hours, Chelsea took the lead. Cole Palmer set a shot in front of the penalty box in the 16th minute of the first half and shook Everton’s net. Palmer scored the second goal in the 18th minute of the first half when his head kicked a second ball following the defense of the opposing goalkeeper.

Chelsea dominated the game. In the 29th minute of the first half, Palmer penetrated Everton’s goal with a long kick, taking advantage of the opposing goalkeeper’s pass miss. In the 44th minute of the first half, Nicola Jackson grabbed Mark Cucurella’s cross and volleyed it to score. The first half ended with Chelsea leading 4-0.

It was a similar trend in the second half. In the 19th minute of the second half, Noni Madueke fell from the penalty box, and the referee declared a penalty kick.

At this time, a dispute arose between Chelsea players over the kicker. Palmer usually handles penalties at Chelsea. He attempted nine penalties this season and succeeded in all of them.

But Madueke insisted that he would take the penalty this time. When Conor Gallagher, wearing the captain’s armband, was dissuaded, Jackson ran and tried to take the ball away from Palmer. Palmer also pushed Jackson’s chest and remained in his position.

In the end, Palmer kicked a penalty kick and scored. Afterwards, Chelsea won 6-0 with Alfie Gilchrist scoring in the 45th minute of the second half.

After the match, Palmer explained, “Other players wanted to kick the penalty as well. It is understandable. The score was 4-0. I am the penalty kicker. I wanted to kick the penalty and I did. Everyone wants to take responsibility.”

He added, “The argument (on the field) was exaggerated. It ended up being a laugh and a joke, but Mauricio Pochettino told the story.”

“It’s unfortunate and shameful. We can’t act this way. I told my players this is the last time I’m going to tolerate this behavior. All players involved in this situation should get out next time,” Chelsea Pochettino said.

“I’m not kidding. It’s impossible to do this behind such a performance. If we’re going to be a big team fighting for big goals, we have to change more collectively. I made it clear to everyone today that Palmer is the kicker,” he said. 토토사이트 순위

“If Palmer wants to hand the ball over to another player, that may be the case, but he really can’t do it this way. It’s a really sad situation and I won’t let it happen again,” Pochettino said.
