‘Murong, Gyeongsung, Yongsan, Gyeongbok’ make it three wins in a row in South Korean qualifiers

The eliminated teams were revealed one after another.

On the 15th, six qualifying games for the men’s high school division of the Haenam Games were held at the Woosul Gymnasium in Haenam, Jeollanam-do.

In the game between Murongo and Yangjeong-go, which kicked off the third day, Murongo led by a double-digit margin through the third quarter, led by Hwang Min-jae and Lee Do-yoon.

However, Yangjungo’s comeback could not be ignored. With a heavy deficit, Yangzhengo fought to the end and chased Murongo closely. They scored back-to-back fastbreak points based on their pressure defense, and even succeeded in drawing fouls, but Jang Min-kyu’s three-pointer at the end was off the mark.

In the matchup between Gyeongsang-go and Naksang-go, Gyeongsang-go won its third straight game behind a 39-point performance from Yang Jong-yoon. After playing a seesaw game, the game started to tilt sharply in the third quarter.

In the third quarter, while Gyeongsang-go got their offense going with evenly matched performances from their players, Naksang-go struggled on defense and only managed to score seven points. Naksang-go started to pull away late, but Gyeongsang-go’s flawless execution kept them at bay.

In the firepower battle between Gimhae Gayago and Anyang, Gimhae Gayago had the last laugh. The trio of Kwon Min, Choi Beom-sik, and Shim Woo-hyuk combined for 74 points to lead the team to its first win. Anyango fought back with five players scoring in double figures, including Yoon Yong-jun, Kim Min-kyu, and Kim Chan-bin, but fell short in overtime.

In the fourth game, SongdoGo won by 29 points against Myeongji. Lee Chan-young led the offense with 40 points, while brothers Bang Sung-won and Bang Sung-in contributed 31 points to the win.

Myungji jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter thanks to even scoring from its players, led by Kim Jung-hyun. However, the team struggled to score in the second quarter and lost the lead due to a number of turnovers. The third quarter followed the same pattern as the second. Once the momentum was lost, Myungji eventually lost the momentum and shook their heads.

Hongdae Bugo defeated Sangsan Electronics by 23 points. Son Seung-jun and Son Yoo-chan combined for 39 points, while Jung Hyun-jin and Shin Eun-chan added 32 points. After maintaining a dominant performance from start to finish, Hongdae Bugo cruised to victory.

Yongsan defeated Busan Joongang in a close game. In the early stages, Yongsan struggled with Busan Joongang’s organic teamwork and defense. They were only able to take a small lead, but they kept allowing them to catch up. Even Lee Yoo-jin was silent and had a difficult time.

But an ace is an ace. After resting in the third quarter, Lee came out in the fourth quarter and hit back-to-back three-pointers to lead her team to victory. Jungang High also scored in the fourth quarter, but it was too much for Yongsan High to overcome.

In the match between Kyungbok University and Dongbu University in the South High School Qualifier at 스포츠토토 Dongbaek Gymnasium, Kyungbok University defeated Dongbu University to extend its winning streak to three games. Leading by 16 points in the first quarter, Gyeongbokgo played a savvy game, distributing playing time and rest to all players.

For Dong-A, Kim Tae-hyuk and Kim Yoon-ho combined for 51 points, but Park Ho-jung and Kim Chan-woong were silent with no points.
