KOREA SPORTS PROMOTION AGENCY CELEBRATES 35TH ANNIVERSARY OF SEOUL OLYMPIC GAMES

The Korea Olympic Committee (KOC) held a ceremony to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the 1988 Seoul Olympics to highlight the achievements of the Games and to establish an environmental, social and governance (ESG) cooperation system for sports .Held at the Olympic Park Hotel in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 18th, the ceremony was attended by Cho Hyun-jae, Chairman of the NPS, Chung Jin-wan, President of the Korean Paralympic Committee, Yoon Sung-wook, Secretary General of the Korean Sports Federation, and more than 300 officials from the Seoul Olympic Bid Committee and volunteer organisations. Former Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Oh Ji-chul of the Seoul Olympic bid team, Han Myung-woo, vice president of the Korean Wrestling Association, who won a gold medal in wrestling, Kim Hyung-yong, president of the Seoul Olympic Volunteers Association, and Kim Byung-woo, a silver medallist in athletics at the Seoul Paralympic Games, shared their experiences and memories from 35 years ago .A plaque of appreciation was also presented to the bereaved family of former International Olympic Committee (IOC) Vice-President Kim Yong-yong, and a “40th Anniversary Painting of Hodol” by artist Kim Hyun, who designed the 1988 Seoul Olympics mascot Hodol, was exchanged with a “Kim Hyun Artist Model” made by the corporation. “The ’88 Seoul Olympics, which is regarded as one of the most successful in history, was the result of the sweat and hard work of all those who participated,” said Cho Hyun-jae. “We will continue to do our best to preserve and 스포츠토토존 spread the legacy of the Seoul Olympics.”
