Yang Hyun-joon-Kwon Hyeok-gyu clash falls through as Celtic reach League Cup quarter-finals
Celtic advanced to the quarterfinals of the League Cup after the matchup between Scottish professional soccer players Yang Hyun-joon (Celtic) and Kwon Hyuk-gyu (Hibernian) was canceled.
Celtic advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2024-2025 Scottish League Cup with a 3-1 home win over Hibernian in the round of 16 at Celtic Park in Glasgow, Scotland, on Monday (Oct. 18).
Kwon Hyuk-kyu, who played alongside Yang at Celtic, left the club on loan to Hibernian on the 13th of this month, and it was expected that the match between Celtic and Hibernian would be a battle between Yang and Hyuk-kyu, but it was not to be.
Yang came on for Daizen Maeda in the 27th minute of the second half and played about 18 minutes until the end of the game.
After playing on the left flank, Yang moved to the right side for the other half of the match, where he was active with his aggressive runs and concise passes, but failed to record any offensive points.
Kwon Hyuk-kyu was left out of the starting lineup.
Celtic took the lead through Daizen Maeda in the fourth minute of the first half.
Leo Hatate’s low cross from the right flank was met by Maeda, who turned on his right foot and rattled the post.
Maeda added to his multi-goal tally in the 15th minute when he flicked on a long pass from the back of the net with his right foot.
Celtic cut the deficit to one goal in the 34th minute through Hibernian’s Nikola Kouharevic.
With Celtic up 2-1 in the second half, Nicolas Gerritsen scored in the 11th minute after strong forward pressure forced a miscommunication between the opposition defense and goalkeeper. 온라인카지노사이트
