Online Gambling to Launch in South Africa
Several internet game companies are poised to open their businesses in South Africa as the new legislation appears poised to pass. The bill, known as the National Gambling Amendment Bill, has already been approved by South African parliaments and local councils across the country. The bill is currently waiting for President Thabo Mbeki to sign the bill. Details of the regulation include requiring all online players to register with licensed interactive gambling providers and submitting an affidavit that they are at least 18 years old.
Although online gambling is currently illegal in South Africa, the new legislation will finally allow it through government oversight and regulation. A good part of the government’s control system is that it will help capture addictive behavior and limit credit extensions with electronic monitoring systems. If the law is passed, at least two companies have already confirmed that they are willing to start online operations in South Africa. 파워볼게임 Bwin Interactive Entertainment and Victor Chandler International Group are in development to take advantage of the new market, and more companies will follow suit.
