Korea dominates China in first match of Asian Handball Championships
Up to 4th place in the competition earns the right to participate in next year’s World Championships
Korea got off to a fresh start by defeating China in the first match of the 21st Asian Men’s Handball Championship.
Korea, led by coach Hollando Freitas (Portugal), won 32-30 over China in the first match of Group B of the tournament held in Bahrain on the 12th (local time).
Kim Yeon-bin (Doosan), who was selected as Man of the Match (MOM), led the attack by scoring the most goals, 7. Dong-Hyeon Jang (SK) also assisted with 6 goals.
Korea, which ended the first half with a score of 12-12, continued the tight game and won the game by 31-28 thanks to Kim Yeon-bin’s key goal at the end of the second half.
A total of 16 countries participated in this competition. Up to 4th place in the final score will be given the right to participate in the World Championships to be held next year. Korea ranked 5th in the previous 2022 competition.
